ISS Visibility Review – See the International Space Station
The International Space Station (ISS), a joint project between the American NASA, the Russian RKA, the Japanese JAXA, the European ESA, and the Canadian CSA, is a modular space station in low Earth orbit. You may never get to step on board, but you may see it with your own eyes – and I’m not talking about pictures here.
The simple truth of the matter is that you can view the ISS from your own backyard if you know when to look. And how can you know when to look? Why by turning to software for help. There is an app out there that will tell you when the ISS is visible from your current location. That app is the Psychic Psquirrel Psoftware-developed and appropriately named ISS Visibility.
If you want to view the ISS, the ISS Visibility app will tell you when to look up at the sky. ISS Visibility displays 10 to 30 day predictions for when the International Space Station may be visible for any location. Speaking about a location, the app can use GPS to pinpoint your location, or you can enter your location manually. You can define and save multiple locations if you want to.
If you’re going to look at the ISS, you’re going to do it at night. The ISS Visibility app has a dark color scheme meant to help you maintain your night vision. And if you’re going to view the ISS from someplace where you don’t have internet access, you will be glad to know that you can save ISS passes and charts on the device for use without internet access. And speaking about charts, the app can display a chart of the whole sky or a detailed one that shows the path of the ISS.
